WILD PARK AURACH

The wildlife park is located in Aurach near Kitzbühel at approx. 1,100 m above sea level. Wildpark Aurach was founded in 1973 by Dr. Heinrich Prinz Reuss opened on the grounds of the Pletzer family's Branderhof. There are about 200 native and exotic animals on an area of ​​approx. 40 ha. Most animals can move freely so that visitors can observe them up close without barriers. An attraction is the game feeding at 2:30 p.m.

At the entrance to the wildlife park there is a Tyrolean-style café-restaurant, the Branderhofstube. There is a children's playground right next to the entrance to the zoo.

Hansi Hinterseer in the Aurach wildlife park
The Aurach wildlife park has been the main filming location for the local film series "Da Wo Die Berge Sind" with Hansi Hinterseer. The main shooting took place in the game park, in the farmhouse (in the kitchen and the parlor) as well as in the inn "Branderhofstube" and in the stable. In addition to the entire film crew, the main actors of "Da Wo Die Berge Sind" are Hansi Hinterseer, Simone Heher, Anja Kruse, Karina Thayental, Ingrid Burkhard, Eva Maria Salcher, Hans Kraemmer, Udo Schenk and others. present at the game park Aurach.

ALPENZOO INNSBRUCK

The Alpenzoo Innsbruck is the highest zoo in Europe at 750 m above sea level. More than 2,000 animals from the Alpine region of 150 species are at home in the zoo. The special thing about this zoo is the representation of alpine life forms in historical and modern times. As a "themed zoo", the Alpenzoo Innsbruck is the only one of its kind in the world that presents such a complete collection of animals from the European Alpine region.
